Crew-12 Farewell & Change of Command Ceremony | International Space Station
Aboard the International Space Station, Crew-12 NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway as well as European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev of Russia, provided farewell remarks on Oct. 4, 2026, ahead of their upcoming departure from the space station.
Joining Crew-12 for the farewell remarks were NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins, Luke Delaney, and Anil Menon as well as Canadian Space Agency astronaut Josh Kutryk and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Teteryatnikov, Andrey Fedyaev, Pyotr Dubrov, and Anna Kikina of Russia. Following the farewell remarks a change of command ceremony took place where Meir handed over command of the space station to Dubrov.
Crew-12 is slated to undock on Oct. 5 and splash down off the coast of California Oct. 6 after completing a long-duration science mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions. Such research benefits people on Earth and lays the groundwork for future human exploration through the agency’s Artemis missions that will send astronauts to the Moon to prepare for future expeditions to Mars.
