NASA's Boeing 777 Aircraft Arrives at Langley Research Center in New Paint Scheme
In these images, NASA’s Boeing 777 returns to the agency’s Langley Research Center after receiving a new paint scheme or livery. It serves as part of NASA's Airborne Science Program. This aircraft will carry a variety of remote sensing and gas sampling instruments in order to address the most challenging questions in Earth science. The aircraft will now continue its maintenance and instrument integration schedule to prepare for its initial airborne science flights in 2027.
The Langley Research Center (LaRC or NASA Langley), located in Hampton, Virginia, near the Chesapeake Bay front of Langley Air Force Base, is the oldest of NASA's field centers.
The 777 is the world's largest twinjet and the most-built wide-body airliner. The Boeing 777, commonly referred to as the Triple Seven, is an American long-range airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
