Canadarm2 Robotic Arm | International Space Station

The Canadarm2 robotic arm’s latching end effector grapples visiting spacecraft, such as Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus XL cargo vehicle, to capture or release them from the International Space Station. It also attaches to power and data grapple fixtures on the orbital outpost for stability and maneuvers astronauts during spacewalks. 

The 17-meter-long (55+ feet) Canadarm2 robotic arm with the 3.7m (12 feet) high Dextre fine-tuned robotic hand attached is pictured here. Canadarm2 and Dextre are part of Canada's contribution to the International Space Station (ISS). Canadarm2 was extensively involved in the assembly of the orbiting laboratory.
