Turkiye hosts its first International Astronautical Congress
Thousands of scientists, policymakers and companies have descended on Antalya, Türkiye, for the 77th International Astronautical Congress, a gathering of space researchers and industry representatives. It kicked off Monday, October 5, 2026. This year's theme is: "Why we need more space."
CGTN's Li Jinhua spoke to a few of the more than 6,000 attendees about what could be on the horizon for the space sector.

Turkey, officially the Republic of Türkiye, is a country mainly located in Anatolia in West Asia with a smaller part called East Thrace in Southeast Europe.
