Exploring The Terminator | International Space Station

Exploring The Terminator | International Space Station

Expedition 73 Flight Engineer and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Astronaut Kimiya Yui: "Right now, the ground directly below the ISS is alternating between day and night, but the ISS is constantly bathed in sunlight and in a state of white nights."

"In such a state, the boundary between day and night is passed slowly in a nearly parallel form, so it is possible to gaze at the sunset for a long time (I casually call the pink line the sunset front, lol)."

The terminator is the line that separates night and day on Earth.
