NASA’s Big Ideas Start Small Scale | Armstrong Flight Research Center

NASA’s Big Ideas Start Small Scale | Armstrong Flight Research Center

NASA’s Dale Reed Subscale Flight Research Laboratory at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, uses small, remotely piloted aircraft to rapidly test new aerospace ideas and reduce risks before full-scale development. The lab staff can design and build aircraft and experimental systems using advanced manufacturing and specialized facilities across the center. These capabilities help NASA mature promising concepts efficiently and safely to advance aeronautics, science, and exploration.
