The Snake Nebula in Ophiuchus
The Snake Nebula, also known as Barnard 72 and LDN 66, is an iconic dark nebula in the Ophiuchus constellation. It is part of the much larger Dark Horse Nebula (occupies the edge of the belly). The Snake Nebula is around 650 light years from Earth. It is a small dust lane that snakes out in front of Milky Way star clouds.
